Well done to all the camera club members who entered our Annual Exhibition competition, the results of which were announced at last nights presentation evening. The quality of the images on show has already been much commented on by members of the public visiting the library exhibition space. The cup winners are photographed below from left to right Conor Molloy (winner of both natural history classes) Steve Gresty (winner of the people & portraits print class) Kevin Blake (winner of  the Landscape print class), our judge Phil Mann, Anthony Gosling (winner of both Open classes, the Mono print class, Landscape DPI class and People & Portraits DPI class) and Paul Scott (winner the Mono DPI class).

The overall best DPI was judged to be Herring Gull catching fish by Conor Molloy and the overall best print in the exhibition was Urbis by Anthony Gosling. We await the public’s vote on their favourite images over the course of the exhibition.

We have had a high number of entries for our Annual competition (278 in all) over the 10 classes which should mean some hard choices for our judge Phil Mann. The exhibition itself will be hung in Macclesfield library on Monday morning 18th April and will open to the public thereafter until Friday 29th April. There will be a trophy for the best image as voted for by the Macclesfield public. Good luck to all who entered.

Well done to all of those whose images were selected to represent the club at todays L&CPU competition. Today was DPI’s only and out of 42 clubs entering Macc came 5th. We came in the Top 10 of all three sections (Colour, Mono & nature). It was a great day out and an excellent result as this is our first foray into Federation level competition for many a year.

The three judges reviewed 992 images from 42 clubs with the final scores as follows :

1st Chorley 323 points,   2nd Wigan 10 311 points,      3rd Alsager 288,

4th Poulton 283,      5th Macclesfield & North Cheshire 280,    6th Southport

7th Evolve 278,       8th Leyland 275,     9th Ribblesdale 274,
