2024 – 2025 SEASON

Well we’ve reached the end of our meetings for the 2024 – 2025 season and sadly the Annual Exhibition has finished. But if you still wanted to see some of our our submitted images they are available on the annual exhibition page (here). We’ll be back in September so have a great summer and please come and join us for the 2025 – 2026 ! season.

For all our latest news and updates please see our News and Programme pages with the latter containing our programme for the current season. We hope you can join us.

If you are interested in joining the club please make contact using the links above or via details on the contacts page as we are planning to return with more face-to-face meetings. In the meantime we will keep you updated with news and updates as they happen.

Macclesfield Camera Club

We are a friendly club that promotes enjoyment of photography and photographic arts for those at all levels of experience and with wide ranging interests.

What we do

Each year we provide a programme of events and activities including member presentations, guest speakers, interactive workshops, photographic trips, club competitions, informal get-togethers and social events.

Why do we do it

Our aim is to educate, inspire, inform, but primarily enjoy photography in a friendly environment, which in turn we hope (and often find!) results in a more rewarding photographic experience and improvements in our members’ images.

What do we offer?

For newcomers we offer speakers and workshops to increase knowledge and understanding, and we provide high-quality feedback on images via internal competitions, access to experienced members, all of which can help you improve your photography.

For the experienced we aim to provide a friendly environment with like-minded individuals creating opportunities to stretch your capabilities and achievements through competitions, exhibitions, access to high quality speakers and maybe learn a new technique or two.

Is it expensive to join?

We think it is exceptional value, the fees are a one off payment which is reviewed annually, typically the weekly cost is less than that of a coffee from a high street chain throughout the season (September to May).

Please note whilst we’re running online we’re not expecting to charge for membership. As things progress we may review this.

Do I need an expensive camera?

No. You don’t need a camera at all to start to benefit from joining the club.

If you actually want to make images, you can start with most modern smartphones or a compact digital camera.  If you already have a camera of some sort, then you are off to a flying start. Our members are also able to offer advice on photographic gear purchases, which could end up saving you a bob or two.

How do I join?

We recommend you come along for a few complimentary evenings and “try us out” – please contact us using the button above, all other enquiries should be made to the Hon. Secretary, Martin Welch by telephone on 01260 252273, or by email using our contact form.
